Expansion joints at a major shopping complex in Birmingham, Alabama had deteriorated to the point of becoming a tripping hazard for patrons thus becoming a liability for the asset owner operator. Contracting and Materials, Inc. proposed using a high-grade epoxy to repair and correct the defective expansion joint. The original specifications called for an expansion joint that used emulsified rubber which did not hold up. The expansion joint that Contracting and Materials, Inc. installed was a high-grade epoxy with incredible strength and durability and still looks like new 10 years later.
